Exercises for pregnant women

Exercise during pregnancy can help prevent discomforts such as back pain or pelvic instability and even lead to an easier delivery. Below is a list of beneficial exercises and stretches that may be performed everyday during your pregnancy to help you stay healthy and feel your best.

Pelvic Tilt: While lying on your back, use your stomach muscles to press your back into the floor. Pregnant women should perform this exercise lying on their side with a pillow in between your legs.

Clams: Lay on your side. Bend knees to 90 degrees. Keep your feet together and raise top knee without rotating your trunk. Isolate the motion at your hip.

Hip Flexor Stretch: Place involved leg backward with heel on ground. Move forward bending the opposite knee until you feel a stretch in the involved hip.

Seated Piriformis Stretch: Cross right foot over left knee and lean forward at your hips until a stretch is felt in your right buttuck.
